Enabling language inputs on Windows 8
This article describes how to enable various language inputs on Windows 8 for typing diacritics or in other character sets.
Adding a new language
- Open your Windows 8 Control Panel
- Click the Clock, Region and Language control panel
- Click Add a language
- You'll see a list of currently enabled inputs, click the Add a Language button at the top of this list
- Select your language from the list and click Add
Now you should see the new language listed in the Language control panel and you'll have a keyboard/input method menu in your Task Bar in the lower right next to the clock.
Changing options on an existing input method
- Open your Windows 8 Control Panel
- Click the Clock, Region and Language control panel
- Click Change Input Methods
- Click Add An Input Method in the middle of the window
- Select the additional input method you want from the list and click Add
- Now you can remove any input methods you do not need, or keep them to be able to switch between them.
