When you launch OnBase, you'll typically find that you get a blank screen with a Document Retrival window. This is the default behavior of OnBase, and it works great for those of us who spend most of our time using Document Retrieval to find documents.
But some of us use other methods of retrieving documents, such as Folders. If this is the case for you, it is well worth taking a few moments to change your defaults so that your Folders open up each day, rather than Document Retrieval.
We have some OnBase users on 'OnBase Client' and others on 'Unity Client', so please refer to the section that pertains to you.
OnBase Client
- Click on the User menu
- Click on User Options
- Click on the Startup tab
- Check and un-check the selections that make sense to you:
- You will most likely see 'Retrieval Dialog' checked. You can un-check this if you don't need document retrieval to open each time you open OnBase.
- If you use workflow, this is a great option to check so that your queues open automatically.
- If you have folders, check the 'Open File Cabinets' box to go right to your folders.
5. Click on Save
Unity Client
- Set up your Unity Client to look like what you want your default to be. For example, if you want the folders to be open when you start Unity, then open your folders now.
- Click on the Home tab
- Click on the drop-down arrow under 'Home', and choose 'Make this layout my Home Page'.
