Overview

This article will provide adequate information to create a scan format as related to OnBase at Carleton.

Prerequisites

In this order:

  1. Proper scanner drivers installed before connecting and turning on the scanner
    1. Fujitsu fi-6130 & fi-6130z model scanners use the Kofax drivers
    2. Fujitsu fi-7160 model scanners require Paperstream drivers
  2. The scanner must be turned on and connected to the computer

Instructions

To configure a scan format in the OnBase Unity client:

Click on Batch Scanning

Click on Manage Scan Formats

You can now manage existing Scan Formats, as well as add new Scan Formats in a window resembling the following

Click "New" to add a new Scan Format - suggested names are below

Using "Duplex - Multiple Pages" as the sample Scan Format on a Fujitsu fi-6130, type Name "Duplex - Multiple Pages" and Source Type "Kofax" to resemble the following image. Click OK

Choose Fujitsu fi-6130 with SVRS with AIPE (Kofax). Click OK and wait for the Scanner Properties window to appear. It may take up to a minute to appear.

On the Scanner Properties window set:

  • Resolution (DPI): 300
  • Paper Size: Maximum
  • Timeout > Scan Start (secs): 6
  • Color Mode Black & White
  • Sides: Duplex

Once set to resemble the image below, click OK

Now you are prompted to complete Document Setup. Since we're configuring it for "Multiple Pages" as implied by the Scan Format's name, change the Document radio button to "Multiple Documents," leavfing Pages per document set to 1.

You will now see the name of your new Scan Format in the list of Scan Formats. Click "Close."

Next time you scan some documents you will have the option to select your newly created scan format, as pictured below.
