Setup Steps (Windows)

  1. (Windows XP machines) Update to Remote Desktop Connection 7.0 by downloading and installing the WindowsXP-KB969084-x84-enu.exe available at the following link:http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=20609
  2. (Windows XP SP3 machines)  Enable Network Level Authentication by turning on the Credential Security Service Provider (CredSSP) using the "Fix it" button and the directions for running it in the "Fix it for me" section on the following page:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951608#FixItForMeAlways
  3. Create a shortcut to the Remote Desktop Connection on the desktop 
    1. Windows XP
      1. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications
      2. Right Click on Remote Desktop Connection and "Send to Desktop" or "Create shortcut" and move the shortcut to the desktop
      3. Open My Computer and copy the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut to the following location, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
    2. Windows 7
      1. Remote Desktop Connection should work, find it in the Start Menu > Accessories

Setup Steps (Mac)

  1. You'll need to install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection, find the download here:
    1. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=18140
    2. Click the Download Now button by RDC_2.1.1_ALL.dmg
  2. The file will save to either your desktop or your downloads folder, find the file name "RDC_2.1.1_All.dmg" and double click it
  3. An RDC window will open with an "RDC Installer.mpkg" icon, double-click it
  4. Click through the installer window
  5. If the Remote Desktop Connection Icon doesn't show up on your Dock, find it in Applications and open it
  6. In the window that opens, type, "MedicatConnect.com" in the "Computer:" field and click "Connect"
  7. Enter your username, prefaced by MCT-SAAS
    example:  MCT-SAAS\<username> 
    where  <username> is your assigned username.
  8. Enter your password as it was given to you.

Connecting to Medicat

  1. Open the Remote Desktop Connection by using the icon on the desktop or going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection
  2. In the window that opens, in the Computer field, type "MedicatConnect.com" as shown below.  Note that User name will show up as "None specified" at this point.
  3. Click Connect
  4. A window will open where you enter your username and password.  You can retrieve your username from the Student Health and Wellness director, currently Marit Lysne.  When you enter your username, use the following format:

MCT-SAAS\<username> 
where  <username> is your assigned username.

  1. Enter your password as it was given to you.
