| OverviewFAX is the technology that just won't go away. In fact, a couple of reports from as recently as 2017 indicated that FAXing was on the increase in the US. There are several reasons for this, not least of all the notion that transmitting sensitive information via FAX is more secure, or perhaps more easily secured, than via email. Regardless of the reasons, Carleton students may still be required to send and/or receive documents via FAX. This article explains how they may do that. Sending a FAX via Multi-Function Printer (MFP)
To send a fax using any MFP on campus, use the "Scan and Send" feature to scan the document and send it. There’s a brief email hop from the MFP to our vendor, where it’s then converted and transmitted as a FAX.
