EIS has access to the Oracle 11 installers

Installing Oracle 11

  1. Access the installer: Dropbox\ITS\ITS Only\ITS_EIS\Oracle
    • In early 2025, the installer is located in the folder called win32_11gR2_client > client
  2. right-click on Setup.exe and Run As Admin
  3. You may see a warning that your computer does not meet minimum requirements - proceed anyway
  4. When prompted to select the installation type, select InstantClient
  5. When prompted to choose the Software Location, create a new folder at C:\Oracle11 and then select this folder as your installation location
  6. After the installation has completed, navigate to C:\Oracle11
  7. Create a new folder called Network (case sensitive)
  8. Within C:\Oracle11\Network create a new folder called Admin (case sensitive)
  9. Open a new Eplorer Explorer window and havigate navigate back to Access the installer: Dropbox\ITS\ITS Only\ITS_EIS\Oracle
  10. Open the ldap folder and copy/paste the files there into C:\Oracle11\Network\Admin
  11. Open Windows Settings > System > About and select the Advanced system settings
  12. Open Environmental Variables
  13. In the system variables section, add the following:
    1. ORACLE_HOME C:\Oracle11
    2. TNS_ADMIN C:\Oracle11\Network\Admin


In order to use Toad with Oracle 11, you'll also need to install Toad (DVIS has the installers), use one of the /wiki/spaces/itskb/pages/26127178, and open up a ticket with the Firewall group add a firewall exception for the user who will be using Toad. Here is an example ticket.
